A boxspring acts as the foundation for your mattress, which is why Stearns & Foster only uses working (flexing) boxsprings that are constructed with durable, high-quality materials. A proper working boxspring can both enhance and extend the comfort life of the mattress.
Depending on the sleep set you select, Stearns & Foster offers two types of working boxsprings:
UltraSteel™ Working Boxspring
One of the industry’s premier boxspring designs, our UltraSteel Working Boxspring features graphite-coated steel nodules – tempered for added resilience – that rest atop a kiln-dried Canadian Spruce frame with a durable steel center rail. It absorbs up to 30% of the weight placed on the mattress, which makes for a more conforming sleep set and increases the comfort life of your mattress.
LIFE System™ Comfort Base Boxspring
The only boxspring of its kind, the LIFE System Comfort Base Boxspring can be found as part of our complete LIFE System. It features our 504 Progressive Support Coil Innerspring surrounded by the innovative LIFE System Foam Encasement. This unique edge support system is molded around the innerspring, locking every component into one remarkably durable unit. This boxspring is used as part of our coil-on-coil designs to deliver the utmost in supportive comfort and a near-weightless sleep experience.
